Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, the Upper East Regional Minister, has called on the media to play a pivotal role in the region’s development during a media interaction session held on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the Presidential Lodge of the Regional Co-ordinating Council.

In his address, Dr. Bin Salih emphasized the significant influence of the media as the fourth estate of governance and appealed for their cooperation in projecting the region’s developmental strides and challenges.

The minister urged the media to engage constructively with the Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) to foster transparency and accountability in government projects and programs. “I look forward to working with all of you to turn this vision into reality. Peace is the foundation upon which all prosperity and progress are built. My vision is centered on the principles of unity, justice, and mutual respect for all,” he stated.

Dr. Bin Salih acknowledged the support he has received from the chiefs and people of the region since assuming office on April 18, 2024. He noted that his tenure, although short, aims to leave a lasting impact on the region, with a particular focus on restoring peace and normalcy in conflict-affected areas like Bawku.

Dr. Bin Salih outlined several key areas where the media’s support would be crucial, including peace and security, agriculture, education, health, social protection, and economic empowerment.

He expressed optimism about the region’s future and entreated the media to join him in promoting peace and development. “Together, we can rebrand the region as a place of peace and prosperity.”
