The Upper East Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, has restated the roles he expects all stakeholders, particularly traditional and religious leaders, to play in the development of the Upper East Region.

In an interview with A1 Radio on Tuesday, July 9, Dr. Bin Salih highlighted various aspects of his engagement with the region’s communities and stakeholders. Reflecting on his tenure thus far, Dr. Salih emphasised the importance of the religious sector in Ghanaian society, stating unequivocally, “Every Ghanaian is religious.”

He called upon religious leaders to continue fostering unity and promoting social welfare initiatives.

Since assuming office, Dr. Bin Salih has embarked on an extensive tour of all constituencies and districts within the Upper East Region. The tour has served as a platform for him to interact directly with constituents, gaining firsthand insights into their concerns and aspirations. These interactions have been crucial in shaping policies and programs that are responsive to the needs of the local populace.

In addition to engaging with community leaders, Dr. Bin Salih said he has also made concerted efforts to interact with the media. These engagements, he said, have been instrumental in disseminating information about government initiatives, fostering transparency, and ensuring that the public remains informed about key developments.

Despite his busy schedule, Dr. Salih remains committed to personally visiting communities and meeting with various stakeholders. He noted, “I am still going round meeting people,” underscoring his dedication to grassroots engagement and inclusive governance.

Reflecting on the reception he has received, Dr. Bin Salih acknowledged the reciprocal nature of his interactions. “Some people also come to me,” he remarked, highlighting the proactive engagement from community members who actively seek dialogue and collaboration with their regional minister.

Looking ahead, Dr. Bin Salih affirmed his commitment to advancing the socio-economic development of the Upper East Region. With ongoing efforts to strengthen community ties, engage diverse stakeholders, and promote inclusivity, Dr. Salih remains steadfast in his pursuit of fostering peace and harmony, sustainable development, and improving the lives of all residents in the region.
