Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga, the Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region, has expressed confidence that voters in the eastern bloc of the region will cast their votes in favor of the NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Mr. Ayinbisa Ayamga explained that although there has been ongoing communication suggesting that the flagbearer is not popular among voters in the area, the large crowd witnessed during Dr. Bawumia’s recent visit tells a different story.

It should be recalled that a few days ago, an official NPP vehicle in the Binduri area was burned to ashes. Additionally, weeks ago, a video circulating on social media captured the NPP Chairman for the Pusiga constituency suggesting that voters could choose to vote for former President John Mahama instead of the party’s candidate.

These for some, were clear indications that the Vice President is not the preferred choice for the people of the area.

Mr. Ayinbisa spoke on the Day Break Upper East Show about Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s visit to the Upper East Region.

According to Mr. Ayinbisa, the Vice President has so far visited seven constituencies: Builsa South, Builsa North, Nabdam, Garu-Tempane, Bawku Central, Talensi, and Bolga East. Today’s itinerary includes Bongo, Chiana-Paga, and Navrongo Central constituencies.

He highlighted that during his tour, Dr. Bawumia has focused on addressing youth concerns and emphasized his commitment to creating an enabling environment for the private sector. Mr. Ayinbisa also noted that the Vice President outlined a significant 8.2 billion Ghana cedis allocation for business development. “He’s been assuring them that he is one of them, that he’s a young person who understands their problems, and that they are going to work hard to create an enabling economy and environment to empower the private sector. When the private sector is empowered, it will lead to job creation. That’s why he mentioned the 8.2 billion Ghana cedis allocated for business champions.” He also highlighted a pledge by the Vice President to prioritize the Pwalugu Multipurpose Dam project under his presidency. Additionally, Dr. Bawumia discussed various other initiatives aimed at economic empowerment and job creation.

“He’s also been speaking about the fact that under his presidency, the Pwalugu Multipurpose Dam will be his number one priority.”
