The Bolgatanga Municipal Education Director Estella Kye-eboh, has appeal to women in the municipality to take a keen interest in their children’s education and ensure a peaceful home environment conducive for learning.
Speaking at a ceremony organized by GIZ in partnership with Hights Enterprise Limited to supported women cooperatives in North East and Upper East regions with certified seeds in Bolgatanga, the Director emphasize the critical role women play in shaping their children’s educational journey.
Mrs. Kye-eboh encouraged the women to actively participate in their children’s learning process, by attending Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meetings, and monitor their children’s homework and academic progress.
“Women are the backbone of the family, and their involvement in their children’s education is crucial for academic success,” the Director said. “By taking an active interest in their children’s education, women can help identify learning gaps and provide necessary support to ensure their children excel academically.”
The Director also stressed the importance of maintaining peace in the home, noting that a stable and harmonious environment is essential for children’s cognitive development and academic performance. She urged women to manage domestic conflicts effectively and create a supportive atmosphere that fosters learning and growth.
“Peace in the home is vital for children’s educational success when children grow up in a peaceful environment, they are more likely to develop emotional intelligence, self-esteem, and a positive attitude towards learning.”
The Director’s appeal comes as the municipality intensifies efforts to improve educational outcomes and promote gender equality in education. By empowering women to take an active role in their children’s education and ensuring domestic peace, the municipality aims to create a supportive environment that allows children to thrive academically and reach their full potential.
