On August 10th, Zebilla will host a unique cycling event known as the “Zebilla Peace Ride,” organized by Keke Cycling Connect in collaboration with African Event Consult.

In an interview on A1 Radio, James Kumbeni explained that the Peace Ride will start at Zebilla Primary School and conclude at the Zebilla District Hospital. Funds raised during the event will assist patients at the hospital who are struggling with unpaid medical bills. “We are trying to raise funds to help people who are forced to remain in the hospital due to their inability to pay their medical bills,” he noted.

Mr. Kumbeni stated that the event is designed to leverage the appeal of sports and recreational cycling to bring the community together while promoting peace. “My team and I are looking at how we can bring people together in and around Zebilla, so we decided to organize this cycling event. The whole idea is to use the sports and the fun aspect of cycling to unite people,” he said.

He also mentioned that the ride will make a subsequent stop in Bawku to continue their mission of social impact through cycling.

Furthermore, Mr. Kumbeni highlighted that local leaders, including the Peace Council, chiefs, and assemblies, have been invited to participate and discuss the importance of peace in the area.
