The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga East Constituency, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has shed light on the challenges facing opposition MPs in delivering major developmental projects to their constituencies.

In an exclusive interview with A1 Radio, Dr. Ayine explained that one significant factor hindering development in the Upper East Region is the political dynamics between opposition MPs and the ruling government.

According to Dr. Ayine, MPs from opposition parties often face delays when lobbying for projects.

“When an opposition MP requests or lobbies for a project, it sometimes takes time before officials from the ruling government even consider the request,” he noted.

This, he said, significantly affects the speed and effectiveness with which developmental initiatives are implemented in constituencies like Bolgatanga East.

Despite these challenges, Dr. Ayine assured constituents that if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wins the upcoming December 7th elections, they can expect a more aggressive push for development in the region.

He indicated key projects that would be prioritized, including the construction of a regional airport and the expansion of the Upper East Regional Hospital into a teaching hospital.

“These are projects that the NDC is committed to realizing for the people of the Upper East Region,” Dr. Ayine stated, emphasizing the party’s dedication to addressing the region’s developmental needs if given the mandate in the forthcoming elections.
