Robert Alibo, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Talensi Constituency, has strongly advocated for peaceful campaigning as the 2024 general elections approach.

Speaking on A1 Radio, Mr. Alibo emphasized the importance of maintaining a peaceful atmosphere before, during, and after the elections, asserting that politics should be rooted in peace rather than violence.

Mr. Alibo expressed dissatisfaction with recent activities in the constituency, where his campaign posters, along with those of the NPP, have been defaced by individuals he believes are affiliated with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“The nature of politics is peace, and I will never encourage or support violence during or after the elections. However, I am concerned about recent incidents in my constituency where my posters and those of the NPP have been defaced by NDC supporters. This behavior is unacceptable,” he said.

Despite his concerns, Alibo urged his supporters to avoid retaliation and to continue running a clean and peaceful campaign.

“I have instructed my supporters not to engage in similar behavior. Running a clean and peaceful campaign is a fundamental principle for me,” he reiterated, emphasizing his commitment to non-violence and respect for all political parties.

Mr. Alibo called on the people of Talensi, regardless of their political affiliations, to prioritize peace and unity in their campaign activities. He stressed that the development and growth of the Talensi Constituency should be the primary focus of all candidates, as this is crucial for improving the lives of the constituents.

“Growth is essential for the development of the area, and that should be our focus. I believe I am well-positioned to address the needs of the people and drive growth in the constituency,” Mr. Alibo stated.

He highlighted his deep understanding of the constituency’s challenges and his readiness to address them if elected.
