Rex Asanga, the Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has made a bold prediction that Bolgatanga, the Upper East regional capital, will experience unprecedented development, surpassing even Greater Accra, if Atiah Figo Awoneka, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Bolgatanga Central, and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP Flagbearer, win the December 7th general election.
Mr. Asanga expressed confidence in the ability of the two to bring about transformative growth and development to the region, citing their vision and leadership capabilities.
The Bolgatanga MCE emphasized that the combination of Figo’s local knowledge and Dr. Bawumia’s national leadership would unlock Bolgatanga’s potential, driving progress in infrastructure, the economy, and quality of life.
“I want to plead with the people of Bolga that this year they should let us change how we vote and vote for Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia as President and Figo as MP. If Dr. Bawumia and Figo win this election, in just four years Bolga will develop more than Accra,” Mr. Asanga said.
Mr. Asanga, who was the NPP parliamentary candidate for Bolgatanga Central in both the 2016 and 2020 general elections but could not make it to parliament, said it is important for the people of Bolga to give the NPP the opportunity to win the seat and bring the needed change to the constituency.
As Mr. Asanga’s statement may excite NPP supporters and residents of Bolgatanga, it remains to be seen whether the residents of Bolgatanga will make a change on December 7th in order for the municipality to develop like the nation’s capital, or if they will want to remain the same.
