Cardinal Namdini Mining Limited, a member of the Shandong Gold Group, has donated a dialysis machine and essential consumables valued at GH¢466,505.00 to the Upper East Regional Hospital.
The donation is a significant boost to the hospital’s healthcare services, particularly in the treatment of kidney-related ailments. The Vice President of Cardinal Namdini Mining Limited, Feng Baoli, emphasized the company’s commitment to the well-being of its stakeholders.
“At Cardinal Namdini Mining Ltd, we recognize that our operations must go hand in hand with the welfare of our stakeholders. As we approach the completion of our project construction which is expected to be commissioned by the end of October this year, we are reminded that our success is deeply intertwined with the prosperity of the Upper East Region. This donation is not merely an act of charity; it is a reflection of our corporate social responsibility. We believe that a healthy community is a prosperous community. The provision of this dialysis machine and associated consumables will significantly enhance the capabilities of the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital, to better serve patients suffering from kidney-related ailments”, he stated.
The items include one dialysis machine (including Bicart Holder, KtV, BPM), one dialysis manual bed/chair, 240 hollow fiber dialyzers HF 19, 240 bloodlines, 480 fistula needles 16G, 120 gallons of acid concentrate dialysate, and 240 gallons of bicarbonate cartridge.
The donation came in response to a request from the Paramount Chief of the Talensi Traditional Area, Tongraan Kugbilson-Nanlebegtang. The chief expressed his gratitude to Cardinal Namdini Mining Limited for the timely intervention.
“I want to thank Cardinal very much for this effort and we pray that their company will continue to mark us on their official agenda list and ensure that they can help our communities, whenever they are called upon. By this mark, they have shown that they are ready to help and I think that we should congratulate them for this”, he remarked.
He also urged the public to prioritize their health and take preventive measures against diseases such as kidney infections, which often require dialysis treatment.
Dr. Aiden Suntaa Saanwie, the Medical Director of the Upper East Regional Hospital, commended Cardinal Namdini Mining Limited and Corporate Ghana for their support. He noted that the donated equipment will enhance the quality of dialysis services at the hospital. He mentioned the hospital’s dialysis center has attended to 15 regular patients and conducted 137 dialysis sessions since the unit began operating on May 26, to September 4th, 2024.
The Upper East Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih in a speech read by the Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive, Rex Asanga thanked the mining company for their remarkable donation, adding that the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and dedication to improving specialized care and the well-being of people with renal disorders are truly commendable.
