Issifu Mahmoud, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Binduri Constituency, has strongly criticized the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Abanga Abdulai, accusing him of deceiving the electorate with exaggerated achievements.
In an interview on A1 Radio, Mahmoud specifically targeted the MP’s claims regarding the drilling of boreholes in various electoral areas.
According to Mahmoud, the MP has falsely portrayed his accomplishments by inflating the number of boreholes he claims to have drilled. He pointed out that in one electoral area, the MP had only drilled a single borehole, yet he has misled the public into believing that several had been constructed.
Mahmoud emphasized the need for transparency and truthfulness in representing the progress made in the constituency.
“We will return to the constituency and continue educating the people on how someone who has drilled only one borehole in a particular electoral area is claiming to have drilled several,” Mahmoud said. He urged the public to be vigilant against these misleading claims.
The PC further criticized the MP’s failure to secure job opportunities for the youth in the constituency. He stated that the few individuals who had found employment in security agencies had done so through their own family connections or the assistance of influential figures, rather than through the MP’s efforts.
Mahmoud issued a direct challenge to the MP, warning that if the false claims continued, he would publicly release the names of those involved to expose the truth.
“He has his list; we also have ours. So when he dares us, the names will soon become public, and we will expose his lies,” Mahmoud stated, underscoring his determination to hold the MP accountable.
