Desert Pastures International School has made a significant leap toward enhancing early childhood education with the unveiling of a state-of-the-art 16-unit pre-primary classroom block at its Yekine campus, also known as Wisdom Campus, in Bolgatanga.
The newly constructed facility is designed to provide a conducive and stimulating learning environment for young minds, equipping them with the essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their academic journey.
The modern classroom block, valued at over 8 million Ghana cedis, is a testament to the school’s commitment to delivering quality education and fostering a strong foundation for future generations.
Speaking at the colorful ceremony to hand over the facility, the Director of Desert Pastures International School, Reverend Mrs. Rosemond Anaba, explained that the current site of the pre-primary school at Daporetidongo, a suburb of Bolgatanga, could no longer accommodate the growing population of the preschool.
This necessity prompted the construction of the new preschool block at Wisdom Campus in the Yekine community within the Bolgatanga municipality, which also houses the Primary and Junior High School blocks.
“As a Christian educational institute, the school aims to develop learners holistically, emphasizing moral training that will prepare them not only for their professions but also for the changes and challenges of life in the future,” Reverend Mrs. Anaba said.
“Since 2019, it became evident that the existing site of the pre-primary school in Daporetidongo was too small to accommodate the growing population. To provide a more conducive environment for teaching and learning, it became necessary to relocate to a larger facility, which is now this Wisdom Campus.”
The 16-classroom block includes offices, a sick bay, and an IT center. It also features two large air-conditioned bistros, and the multi-purpose classrooms are equipped with modern furniture, interactive boards, and LED screens for learning, making it IT-compliant.
Archbishop Charles Agyinasar, Founder of Perez Chapel International Church in Accra and guest of honor at the event, highlighted Desert Pastures’ efforts to ensure quality education in the region despite various challenges.
Evelyn Forson, Basic Schools Coordinator from the Bolgatanga Municipal Directorate, expressed gratitude to the management of Desert Pastures International School for their contributions to the educational sector in the municipality.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Bolgatanga, Rex Asanga, described the preschool block as a life-enhancing facility for young learners. He urged students to make the most of the ultra-modern facility and emphasized the importance of quality education and the efforts required to achieve it.
Parents at the ceremony expressed their joy over the newly unveiled facility. They believe that the well-equipped, ultra-modern KG facility will adequately prepare young learners for a bright future.
