Dr. Ayine Dominic, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga East Constituency, has fiercely criticized his rival, Matthew Silas Amoah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), accusing him of gross incompetence and questioning his suitability as a representative for the people of Bolga East.
Dr. Ayine condemned Silas Amoah’s claims of being a contractor, arguing that Amoah has failed to substantiate these claims.
“He’s going around claiming that he is a contractor; let us ask him or ourselves where his license is. We know the kind of work he is doing, but I, Dr. Ayine, will not say it, and they will say I’m the one saying this about him. Go to Tamale and ask about him. What is his nickname again, ‘Paddon’? Yes, go and ask about the kind of work he is doing there,” Dr. Ayine asserted, challenging Silas Amoah’s credibility and urging the public to scrutinize his professional background.
Dr. Ayine’s comments come amid a heated political climate as the 2024 elections approach.
Dr. Ayine also addressed a recent incident that he believes reflects a lack of respect from his opponent.
He recounted that Silas Amoah, despite publicly claiming to hold him in high regard, undermined his efforts by prematurely commissioning a project at the Agric Park—a venue Dr. Ayine had intended to use for a rally.
“He [Silas Amoah] claimed that I’m his father and he respects me. But when last I told my people that I wanted to hold a mini rally at the Agric Park, before I could say anything, he went there to commission the park and allow a caterpillar to begin working on the place. Is that how you respect your father? He doesn’t respect me,” Dr. Ayine lamented.
Despite the heated exchange, Dr. Ayine focused on the positive message of his campaign, urging voters to support him and the NDC’s Presidential Candidate.
He emphasized his commitment to bringing significant development to Bolgatanga East and highlighted his party’s track record of progress in the region.
“I call on the electorate to give me, and our Presidential Candidate, the chance to bring the needed development to our area. We are dedicated to improving the lives of our people and ensuring that Bolgatanga East continues to move forward,” Dr. Ayine concluded.
