President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the people and chiefs of the Upper East Region for their cooperation in ensuring peace and stability in the area, particularly in Bawku.
During a working visit to the region, where he engaged with stakeholders, the President acknowledged the efforts of Naba Abugrago Azoka II, the Bawku Naba, in promoting peace and security in both Bawku and the Upper East Region.
The President’s visit was also an opportunity to thank stakeholders for their support over the past eight years.
He emphasized that, despite ongoing challenges, the government is committed to maintaining peace in Bawku. “We are all aware of the issues in Bawku; by and large, we are on top of the situation,” President Akufo-Addo assured.
The stakeholders engaged by the President included chiefs, religious leaders, traditional leaders, and labor unions, among others.
President Akufo-Addo stated that his government is not discriminatory and has ensured that development is spread across the country, regardless of the region or community.
While highlighting his achievements, the President emphasized that the Upper East Region has benefited from many projects and various forms of development under his government.
In expressing appreciation for the President’s efforts and his love for the region, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, the Upper East Regional Minister, also took the opportunity to highlight the region’s potential across all sectors.
