A committed member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Gavinus Anaba, has made a significant donation to the party in the Bolgatanga Central constituency by providing 100 branded shirts.
This donation is aimed at supporting the campaign efforts of the NDC’s parliamentary candidate, Isaac Adongo, and the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
The donation, which is the first consignment, was made during a brief presentation ceremony at the constituency office. It is expected to boost the party’s visibility and help members more effectively promote the NDC’s policies to voters ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Mr. Anaba explained that the branded shirts would assist party members in reaching out to potential voters, engaging with the electorate, and raising awareness about key NDC policies, such as the 24-hour economy, the women’s bank, and other initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Ghanaians.
Mr. Anaba further stated that his decision to donate the shirts was motivated by concerns over some disgruntled party members who had expressed dissatisfaction and were advocating for a protest vote against Isaac Adongo, the sitting Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central.
“December 7th is approaching, and we need to energize the party. However, when I returned home, I heard people talking about ‘skirt and blouse’ voting, which I am not happy with. What we need to do is vote for JM and Isaac Adongo,” he said.
Receiving the shirts on behalf of the party, the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Secretary of the NDC, Isaac Ayemvoa, expressed profound gratitude to Mr. Anaba for his continuous support. He noted that the branded shirts would play a crucial role in rallying voter support and enhancing the party’s visibility in the constituency.
“We are grateful for this support. These shirts will help us connect with more voters and will certainly boost our efforts in the constituency. Although we have provided party shirts to some voters, there is still a high demand for them, as many prefer to be associated with the NDC brand rather than the NPP,” Mr. Ayemvoa said.
This is not the first time Mr. Anaba has demonstrated his commitment to supporting the NDC in Bolgatanga Central. In April 2023, he made a similar gesture by donating a desktop computer to the party’s constituency secretariat to enhance its operations. He has also consistently provided resources, such as internet data and call credit, to the party’s communication team and has supported the women’s wing and other party groups.
