During an interview with Mark Smith on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East today, legendary musician Stevo Atambire revealed his ambitious plan to start a music school as a way to give back to the community.

Stevo expressed his commitment to nurturing local talent and promoting music education in the Upper East Region.

“We are currently looking for land to commence building the school,” he shared, emphasizing the importance of providing aspiring musicians with the resources and training they need to succeed. Stevo believes that a dedicated music school will not only enhance the local music scene but also empower young artists to pursue their dreams.

His initiative aligns with a broader vision of fostering cultural pride and development through music, further solidifying his role as a community leader. As excitement grows around the upcoming SAA WOO Festival, Stevo’s plans for the music school underscore his dedication to making a lasting impact beyond the stage.

Meanwhile, in the same interview, Stevo discussed the upcoming SAA WOO Festival, scheduled for October 26, 2024.

Now in its sixth year, the festival continues to evolve, with new features added annually to enhance the experience.

Stevo shared that his inspiration for the festival stemmed from witnessing the positive impact of festivals abroad, which foster development, unity, and economic growth.

“During my performances at various festivals abroad, I realized their profound impact on development and unity. They also generate significant monetary resources for the communities involved. I wanted to replicate that in my own country, specifically in the Upper East Region. The SAA WOO Festival is my way of giving back to society and showcasing our rich culture to the world,” he said.
