In a bid to enhance the livelihoods of women in the Navrongo Central Constituency, 120 young women have successfully completed a three-day training program in bead making, tie-and-dye, and beautification.
This initiative, organized by the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the area, Alhaji Abdallah Otito Achuliwor, aims to improve the capacity and income-generating potential of these women, equipping them with skills to foster financial independence.
The program saw three women from each electoral area in the constituency participate in the training. Upon completion, they were awarded certificates of participation as a mark of their achievement.
The initiative focused not only on enhancing their practical skills but also on empowering them to serve as role models and facilitators for other women in their communities.
During the event, the women expressed profound gratitude to Alhaji Achuliwor for his foresight in implementing such a program.
They described the initiative as life-changing, highlighting that it would significantly boost their income levels. Additionally, the women pledged to share the skills they had acquired with fellow women in their electoral areas, further expanding the program’s impact across the constituency.
Many participants also prayed for Alhaji Achuliwor’s success in the upcoming December 7th elections, noting that such initiatives reflect his genuine commitment to uplifting the community.
Addressing the women, Alhaji Achuliwor reaffirmed his dedication to youth empowerment, emphasizing that such programs would be central to his agenda if elected as a Member of Parliament.
He stressed the importance of equipping individuals with skills that align with their potential, which he believes will foster self-reliance and sustainable development within the constituency.
“Empowering people, particularly the youth, through skill-building initiatives like this will be my hallmark. I am committed to creating a constituency where everyone, especially young people, can stand on their own feet,” Alhaji Achuliwor stated.
He also revealed that a similar training program is being organized for young men, particularly those involved in metalworks and other trades, as part of his broader strategy to create employment opportunities and reduce poverty in the constituency.
