Albert Agana, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bolgatanga East, has highlighted the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) numerous initiatives in the district, which he believes merit voter support in the upcoming elections.

“For years, it’s been an open secret that we consistently vote for the NDC, but this time, people should rethink and reflect on what the NPP has done for them.”

He pointed to the creation of the Bolga East district itself, noting that it has come with essential infrastructure, including a district administration block and a district court that serves both Bolga East and the neighboring Nabdam district.

“First, it’s the NPP government that created the Bolga East district. But it didn’t stop there—it provided a district administration block and a district court,” he said. “We now have a district court serving both Bolga East and Nabdam.”

He also highlighted advancements in healthcare, particularly the establishment of a district hospital under the government’s Agenda 111 project. This facility, once completed, is expected to significantly improve healthcare services in the area. Mr. Agana mentioned ongoing upgrades to Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) centers and noted substantial improvements to the area’s road network, which have enhanced local transportation and connectivity.

He expressed confidence in the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing his leadership as crucial for continued development. “Looking at all these achievements, I believe that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer, deserves our support.”

The DCE also praised the Parliamentary Candidate (PC), Matthew Amoah, for his grassroots contributions to the community. According to him, Mr. Amoah, a private businessman, has launched projects such as boreholes, health support, and educational assistance for local residents. “Matthew Amoah is almost a national anthem here in Bolga East—the community knows what he’s done. No politician has ever contributed like this before.”

He highlighted Mr. Amoah’s involvement in constructing sports facilities and promoting apprenticeship programs, which reflects a proactive approach to community development. “He’s building an astroturf for the youth and supporting apprenticeships. He’s not just talking about it—he’s already making it happen.”

Mr. Agana also took the opportunity to thank local chiefs and stakeholders for their collaboration in fostering development in Bolgatanga East. “I’d like to thank all the chiefs and key stakeholders who have worked with me to advance Bolga East.”

He urged party members to maintain peace and patience, assuring them that the electorate recognizes the positive changes the NPP has brought to the district and will make their voices heard in the upcoming elections. “I urge everyone to stay calm; the people know what’s best for them, and they’ll speak out on election day. We don’t need to fight anyone—just stay calm and confident.”
