The People’s National Convention (PNC) parliamentary candidate for the Talensi constituency, Dr. Wombeogo Michael Namalteng, has issued a call to action for the residents of Talensi to embrace a new political era, stating that the dominance of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stunted the constituency’s development.

Dr. Namalteng’s remarks came during an interview on A1 Radio, where he outlined his vision for the Talensi constituency, a vision he describes as the “Talensi Agenda.”

Dr. Namalteng stressed that, despite decades of leadership from the NDC and NPP, the constituency has seen minimal progress, with critical issues like job creation and infrastructure development left largely unaddressed.

“The truth of the matter is that both the NDC and NPP have outlived their glory days, yet there’s nothing tangible to show in Talensi,” he remarked, pointing to the persistent lack of development. “The PNC is the new era and the only party that seeks to bring the needed development for the people.”

Dr. Namalteng’s “Talensi Agenda” centers around two core priorities: creating sustainable job opportunities for Talensi’s youth and addressing the district’s infrastructural deficits.

He cited concerns that the interests of the youth and residents have been overlooked by previous administrations, a situation he intends to change.

“Over the years, the interests of the youth and people have been overshadowed by these two parties,” he continued. “It’s time we, together with the youth and the discerning people of Talensi, tell them that it is enough. The PNC is the way to go.”

Dr. Namalteng’s advocacy for the “Talensi Agenda” focuses on the empowerment of Talensi’s youth and communities through initiatives he believes are necessary to uplift the constituency.

“The PNC is here to unpack the interests of Talensi,” he stated, describing his development-focused agenda as a chance to “jealously develop Talensi to the latter.”

By committing to prioritize local needs, he hopes to drive support for a new political direction in Talensi, aiming for an inclusive approach that he says will transform the constituency into a model for growth and prosperity.

With Talensi set to play a critical role in the upcoming elections, Dr. Namalteng’s campaign highlights a growing sentiment among some constituents that alternative leadership might be essential to address their pressing needs.
