Peter Ayinbisa tackles Isaac Adongo for spending huge sums only close to parliamentary election

The Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region, Peter Ayinbisa, has raised concerns over what he describes as a sudden and questionable surge in campaign spending by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo.

Mr. Ayinbisa expressed surprise at the MP’s newfound generosity, alleging that Mr. Adongo is now distributing motorcycles and other resources during campaign activities. He noted that this is a stark contrast to the MP’s earlier stance, where he frequently cited his position in the opposition as a limitation to securing developmental projects for the constituency.

The NPP communicator argued that the MP’s change in approach is not driven by genuine concern for the constituents but by the intense competition he faces from the NPP’s parliamentary candidate, Elvis Figo Awonekai.

“If Isaac Adongo truly cared about the development of Bolgatanga Central, he wouldn’t have waited until election season to release these resources,” Mr. Ayinbisa remarked.

He accused the MP of prioritizing personal interests over the needs of the constituency and urged voters to critically scrutinize his track record.

Highlighting Mr. Awonekai as a better alternative, Mr. Ayinbisa asserted that the NPP candidate understands the basic needs of the constituency and is committed to addressing them.

He further accused Mr. Adongo of using Bolgatanga Central’s votes to “live large” in the nation’s capital while neglecting the constituency’s developmental needs.

The NPP officer called on constituents to choose leadership that prioritizes their well-being, presenting Mr. Awonekai as a candidate who would not let the constituency down.
