The Chief of Pelungu Traditional Area, Naab Serig Sore Sobil IV, has praised the District Chief Executive, Agnes Namoo, and the Member of Parliament for Nabdam, Dr. Mark-Kurt Nawaane, for their exemplary working relationship, which has yielded significant benefits for the community.
Naab Sore Sobil IV said that, despite their political differences, they have demonstrated a commitment to development, particularly in the establishment of the Pelungu Police Station.
Speaking at the 3rd Anniversary of Nabdam for Christ celebration at Pelungu in the Nabdam district of the Upper East Region, Naab Sore Sobil IV said the collaboration has led to a substantial decrease in crime rates, enabling residents to go about their daily activities without fear.
“I think MP Honorable Mark-Kurt Nawaane and the Honorable DCE, Madam Agnes Namoo, need to be commended because the two of them have teamed up and brought this to light.”
“This is what we mean when we talk about politics—NPP and NDC. The DCE is from NPP and the MP is from NDC, yet they work together to ensure we have a befitting police station and hospital. The police station is not helping only Pelungu but the whole district, and robbery is now a thing of the past.”
While highlighting the importance of unity and cooperation among leaders in driving positive change, the Chief recounted how these politicians, together with the Police Services, collaborated with him since he became the Chief of the community and saw the need for establishing a police station in the area.
Naab Sore Sobil IV, the Chief of Pelungu, used the opportunity to call on any political party that wins the December 7th general election to prioritize education and road infrastructure in the district.
“Now we have the human resources, but we need more. Any government that comes should prioritize education, and our roads are very bad—they should work on that as well.”
Naab Sore Sobil IV also called on all political actors and stakeholders to commit to peace before, during, and after the general election.
