A1 Radio, a subsidiary of the Agreed Best Communication Company operating in the Bolgatanga Municipality of the Upper East Region of Ghana, has launched an urgent appeal for financial support to save the life of 8-month-old Baby Micah Ayine, who has been diagnosed with a critical “Hole in the Heart” condition.
The infant urgently requires heart surgery at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, but the estimated cost of $8,000 (GH¢128,183.31) poses a significant financial burden on the family. Baby Micah’s condition demands immediate intervention, as any delay could jeopardize his life.
Speaking during the launch, Humul Khrusum Tahiru, Head of the Gender Desk at A1 Radio, highlighted the importance of the appeal, stating that Micah’s condition is a situation that could happen to any family. She emphasized the need for everyone, both near and far, to contribute any amount they can to save Baby Micah’s life.
Mrs. Khrusum Tahiru, who officially launched the initiative, expressed her compassion for the family’s plight, urging the public to support the campaign:
“Usually, when you give birth, it comes with joy and happiness. Unfortunately, we have a family whose baby has been diagnosed with a hole in the heart. It is heartbreaking to see a baby in such a difficult situation, and the family is unable to raise the money needed to save him.”
“This situation needs urgent attention, and we are appealing to our listeners and the general public to support us and empathize with this family. We hope everyone will step into the family’s shoes and support them. No amount is too small.”
The family is also appealing to the public for help. Speaking during the launch, Micah’s father, Akolgo Daniel Ayine, who appeared devastated by his son’s condition, pleaded for support:
“Per the explanations from the health personnel, because of this condition, Micah will struggle to grow like a normal child. As we speak, Micah cannot sit, and his neck is not strong. I am appealing to everyone listening to help us because the family cannot raise the money on our own.”
