“We have been able to deliver 15 out of 15. If you look at the quality of representation in the Upper East Region, we have some of the best MPs in the country. Take my own junior brother, Isaac Adongo—a fantastic, intelligent, and articulate person in economics and finance. Then there’s my junior brother and former student, James Agalga—a great lawyer with extensive knowledge in security and intelligence.”

These were the words of the re-elected Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga East Constituency, Dr. Dominic Ayine, as he commented on the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) successful execution of its ‘Agenda 15/15.’

Speaking to Humul Khrusum Tahiru on A1 Radio’s special coverage of the 2024 elections, Dr. Ayine also praised other MPs, including Mahama Ayariga, the re-elected MP for Bawku Central.

Dr. Ayine stated that the quality of the NDC’s representation is why many were surprised by the popularity of the NPP candidate in the Bolgatanga East Constituency.

“In terms of his educational background, he only has a WASSCE certificate. This is someone who thought he could challenge someone like me, who has been representing the people of Bolgatanga East very well and creditably in Parliament,” he remarked.

Highlighting the significance of the NDC’s victory for the Upper East Region, Dr. Ayine referred to previous comments by the president-elect, John Dramani Mahama, during a visit to the region. He noted that Mr. Mahama had commended the people for their unwavering support and pledged to reward the region.

“He [Mahama] will also focus on developing the Upper East Region. When we are in power, we prioritize development—road infrastructure, building schools, and airports,” Dr. Ayine said.

Dr. Dominic Ayine of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was re-elected by voters in the Bolgatanga East Constituency of the Upper East Region.

Dr. Ayine defeated his opponent, Mathew Silas Amoah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), by securing 12,002 votes. Mr. Amoah received 7,415 votes.
