The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to completing an airport in the Upper East Region to facilitate transportation to and from the area.
Jonathan Abdallah Salifu, the Upper East Regional Communication Officer for the NDC, made these remarks during an interview with Humul Khrusum Tahiru on A1 Radio’s special coverage of Election 2024.
“The Upper East Airport is our number one priority. We are hopeful that construction of the Upper East Regional Airport will begin in 2025. The Bolga-Bawku road, which has been at a standstill for two years now, will also see work resume and be completed,” he stated.
“We are also expecting to fully establish our ultra-modern dialysis center, as promised to the people of the Upper East Region. Additionally, we anticipate groundbreaking work for the construction of an ultra-modern hospital in the Bawku enclave.”
Mr. Salifu highlighted the establishment of farmer service centers as another key initiative for the region. He also mentioned the planned construction of a women’s bank as a significant project that would benefit the Upper East Region.
He emphasized that the NDC is a “government in a hurry” to advance the development of the region.
