The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has confidently asserted that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will ensure the constituency remains firmly out of reach for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in future elections.

According to Mr. Adongo, the NDC’s strategy is to solidify Bolgatanga Central as a stronghold, ensuring it is no longer viewed as one of Ghana’s swing constituencies. He assured party supporters that regardless of who is elected as the NDC parliamentary candidate in future elections, the constituency will remain a “no-go area” for the NPP.

“Our strategy has been to make Bolga a very formidable seat for the NDC, and it will remain so even if Adongo is not the parliamentary candidate. We want to make the Bolga seat no longer count as one of the swing seats, ensuring that no matter who is elected as the parliamentary candidate of Bolga, Bolga will be a ‘no-go area’ for the NPP,” he declared.

The MP, who recently secured a third term, was re-elected with a commanding 35,101 votes in the December 7, 2024, elections. His closest contender, Elvis Atia Awonekai of the NPP, garnered 15,470 votes, while Akunlibe Peter of the People’s National Convention (PNC) received just 404 votes out of the 51,500 total votes cast.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Adongo expressed gratitude to his constituents for their continued trust and support. He emphasized that his party’s performance and commitment to the development of Bolgatanga Central have firmly cemented the NDC’s position as the preferred choice of the electorate.
