The Upper East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mr. Raymond Wejong Ali Adofiem, and his team ushered in the early hours of the New Year with a visit to the Bombz Event Center, formerly known as the Catering Rest House, a popular nightlife venue in the region.

The visit, which took place at midnight on January 1, 2025, aimed to commend the youth for their pivotal role in maintaining peace during the recently concluded 2024 elections.

Addressing the gathering, DCOP Adofiem expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the youth for disproving national assumptions that the region would experience post-election violence, particularly given tensions in Bawku.

“Many feared the region would descend into chaos, but you have shown an unwavering commitment to peace, proving critics wrong. Your actions are commendable and essential for the development of our region,” he stated.

The commander also used the occasion to caution attendees against drunk driving or riding, emphasizing their responsibilities as future leaders. “As we celebrate the New Year, let us ensure safety on our roads. Avoid drunk driving and make responsible choices to protect lives,” he urged.

Bombande Edmund, owner of Bombz Events, expressed appreciation to DCOP Adofiem and his team for choosing his venue as part of their New Year engagements.

“It is an honor to host you here. Your presence inspires the youth to embrace peace and good practices,” he said. Bombande further assured the commander of his commitment to promoting responsible entertainment.

The visit highlighted the police’s dedication to community engagement and fostering peaceful coexistence, reinforcing hopes for a prosperous and united Upper East Region in 2025.
