The Upper East Regional Principal Marketing Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Mr. Joseph Azika, has been celebrated as the “Regional Staff of the Year 2024 – Upper East Region” at the recently concluded GTA Awards in Accra.
This prestigious accolade cements Mr. Azika’s reputation as a prominent figure in Ghana’s tourism industry, recognizing his exceptional contributions and unwavering commitment to promoting the sector.
The award adds to a series of honors he has received over his illustrious career, including Employee of the Year in 2015, the Traditional Wear Award in 2022, and Best Performing Staff in 2023, all within the Upper East Region.

Hailing from the Zaare community in the Bolgatanga Municipality, Mr. Azika’s academic background reflects his passion for tourism.
He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Tourism, a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism, and a Master of Philosophy in Culture and Development Studies.
