Bongo NDC congratulates Donatus Akamugri on appointment as U.E Regional Minister-designate

The Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bongo Constituency, led by Chairman Alhaji Tahiru Aberinga, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Donatus Akamugri Atanga on his nomination as the Upper East Regional Minister-Designate.

In a press statement signed by Edward Asekere, the Constituency Communications Officer, the party commended Mr. Akamugri for his unwavering dedication, loyalty, and exceptional leadership, which have earned him recognition following decades of committed service to the NDC.

Mr. Akamugri’s political career spans over three decades, during which he has held numerous notable roles, including Assembly Member for the Nayorigo Electoral Area in the Bongo District Assembly (1994-2006), Presiding Member of the Bongo District Assembly (2005-2006), Deputy Upper East Regional Youth Organizer of the NDC (1993), Constituency Youth Organizer for Bongo (1993), Acting Upper East Regional Youth Organizer (1994), Upper East Regional Youth Organizer (1995-1998), TEIN Secretary at the University of Education, Winneba (1995-1997), and Longest-serving Upper East Regional Secretary and National Executive Member of the NDC since 1998.

The statement lauded Mr. Akamugri as an ideal candidate to spearhead development and progress in the Upper East Region, emphasizing his extensive experience and proven leadership abilities.

The Bongo Constituency Executive Committee also expressed profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for entrusting Mr. Akamugri with this significant responsibility.

“The people of Bongo are united in prayer for wisdom and success for Hon. Akamugri as he takes on this important role,” the statement noted.

Additionally, the Executive Committee, along with the Member of Parliament for the Bongo Constituency, Lawyer Charles Bawaduah, congratulated President Mahama on his historic victory in the 2024 presidential election.

The statement concluded with a call for collective support to ensure Mr. Akamugri’s success as Regional Minister, reaffirming the NDC’s commitment to advancing development across the region under President Mahama’s leadership.
