The Paramount Chief of the Sirigu Traditional Area, Azukodaana, Naba Atugudeeya Bugum Zoti Ko’om, Samiisia Maltinga Roland Akwara III, in the Kasena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region, has expressed deep concern over the lack of social amenities in his community.
“We are lacking almost all social amenities,” he lamented. “What can we do as a community without good roads, educational facilities, and healthcare services?”
Speaking on Tinmaalgu Sanga on Bolga FM, the Paramount Chief highlighted the dire situation in Sirigu, where residents struggle to access basic services.
Naba Bugum Zoti Ko’om, Samiisia Maltinga Roland Akwara III, emphasized that the community’s long-standing loyalty to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) should be reciprocated with tangible development projects now that the party is in power.
“They told us that we always voted for the NDC. Now that the NDC is in power, they should come and give us good roads, healthcare facilities, and educational infrastructure,” he said.
According to the Paramount Chief, the community faces numerous challenges, including poor road networks and inadequate access to healthcare, markets, and education.
He further indicated that the government is aware of these issues, and his plea serves as a reminder of the urgent need for development in the Sirigu community.
