Renowned Ghanaian musician and philanthropist Samuel Asaa, popularly known as SamAiam, has once again demonstrated his commitment to giving back to society. The California-based artist has organized a series of events, including a health walk, health screening, football competition, and a music concert, as part of his “Asaa Music Festival” in Bolgatanga.
Now in its third year, the festival aims to bring together people from the Upper East and Northern Ghana, promoting unity and love. This year’s edition kicked off with a health walk and health screening on March 1, 2025, attracting hundreds of participants, including youth groups and students.
According to SamAiam, the health screening was motivated by his desire to support individuals struggling with health conditions due to financial constraints. “People are suffering because of health conditions, and they don’t have money to renew their health insurance. Some don’t even have health insurance, and that’s why I want to help them with the little I have,” he explained.
The “Asaa Music Festival” will continue with a football competition on March 7, 2025, and culminate in a grand music concert on March 8, 2025, at the Jubilee Park in Bolgatanga. SamAiam shared his vision for the festival, stating, “The Asaa Music Festival started three years ago, and the plan is to make it a long-term event. It will be an annual festival where the people of Bolga, the Upper East, and Northern Ghana will come together to show love and unity.”
As the festival continues to grow, he is calling for support and collaboration, emphasizing that his efforts not only promote unity and love but also address pressing social issues, such as access to healthcare.
