The National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Yamin, has assured party executives that none of them will be left behind in terms of job opportunities and support under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration. He gave this assurance during a meeting with party members in the Upper East Region, where he reaffirmed the party’s commitment to rewarding loyal members who worked tirelessly for its victory.
According to Mr. Yamin, the NDC-led government will prioritize the welfare of its party members, particularly executives at various levels, to ensure they are gainfully employed and empowered. He emphasized that under President Mahama’s leadership, party executives will not struggle to make ends meet.
“We are telling you that no executive will go hungry under this government. No executive will go hungry. But wait until everything is certain,” he stated.
Beyond jobs, the National Organizer also assured party members that they would have access to scholarships to further their education. He urged executives who require jobs or financial aid for their children’s education to approach the party leadership for assistance.
“Your children need employment; when they start hiring, come to us, and we will help them secure jobs. If your children need scholarships to further their education and build a future, come to us when they start awarding them. We will ensure they receive it because you deserve it; you have worked for it,” he added.
He explained that once Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of various government agencies are confirmed by their respective boards, there will be room for party members to be recruited into these institutions.
“Today, nobody can give you jobs because the CEOs do not have power; they are all acting. Until their boards confirm them, they cannot start recruitment. Those of you with qualifications to work in agencies, when they start employing, come to us at the national headquarters, and we will secure employment for you,” he stated.
Justifying the move in a video that went viral, Mr. Yamin said that NDC supporters and their children deserve appointments, scholarships, and employment opportunities because they “deserved it and worked for it”
His comments were welcomed with applause from the party members, with many looking forward to how these assurances will be implemented in the coming months.
