The 2025 Ramadan Soccer Fiesta kicks off today, Monday, March 31, 2025, with defending champions Atulbabiisi Community set to open their title defense against the highly rated Zaare Community.
In the 2024 edition, Atulbabiisi proved their dominance from the knockout stages through to the round of 16, quarter-finals, and semi-finals, culminating in a victory over Tanzui in the final to lift the coveted trophy for the first time in their history.
As the tournament begins, Atulbabiisi will be a team to watch, with strong competition expected from communities like Bolga-Soe, Kotokoli-Zongo, Bukere, and others.
This year’s tournament will feature two debutants, Yagzore and Gambibgo, who will be looking to make an impact. However, two regular participants, Sawaaba and Estates, will be absent from this year’s edition.
A total of 24 communities will compete in this year’s event, including host community D-Line, co-host community Dagmweo, Atulbabiisi, Pobaga, Tindonmolgo, Tindonsobligo, Zaare, Yikene, Sherigu, Dorongo, Bolga-Soe, Zuarungu, Moshie-Zongo, Kotokoli-Zongo, Olicoco, Tanzui, Nyariga, Bukere, Zongo, Majeema, Dapoore-Tindongo, Yagzore, Gambibgo, and Sumbrungu.
The tournament will officially kick off today with the first match between Tindonmolgo and Pobaga at 2 PM, followed by the opening ceremony match between D-Line and Moshie-Zongo.
The competition is expected to run from today, Monday, March 31, until April 21, 2025.
All matches will take place at the renowned Bolgatanga Mobil Astro Turf Field, starting at 2 PM daily.
