Reverend Dr. Moses Asaah Awinongya, the founder of the Regentropfen College of Applied Sciences (ReCAS), has revealed that his relationship with God has been central to his life. Every aspect of his actions, both past and present, has been closely intertwined with his faith.

Sharing insights into his deeply rooted Christian faith during an interview on A1 Radio, he emphasized that becoming a priest was never part of his initial aspirations. Instead, his primary goal was always to live a good Christian life, help others, and embrace kindness and love for all. He recalled how his grandfather, despite not being a Christian, taught him the values of spirituality and religious devotion, shaping his understanding of faith.

“Relationship with God has always been my life. There is nothing I did or do that doesn’t have a relationship with God. Becoming a priest was not part of my ambitions. The main aim was to be a good Christian, live a good life, help people, not hate anybody, and let things go,” he said.

Rev. Dr. Awinongya expressed contentment in his role as a priest, stating that if given another chance in the next life, he would choose the same path. His journey to the priesthood began unexpectedly during his national service, where he was involved with youth work. It was during this period that he experienced a profound shift, one that would ultimately guide him toward the priesthood.

Throughout his journey, he received unwavering support from his family. He fondly acknowledged the sacrifices of his late uncle, who gave everything to help him along the way, and his mother, who, though not fully understanding his path, still offered her full support. Despite the sacrifices, he noted that his family, though they knew his path meant certain losses, always backed his decision.

“Everybody supported me along the line. I’d say my deceased uncle gave his all. My mother, even though she didn’t really understand what I was doing, gave her all. I’d say generally, the family supported me, even though they knew it was a loss,” he said.
