Sirigu celebrates first-ever native DCE nominee, thanks President Mahama for inclusive leadership

The people of Sirigu, in the Kassena-Nankana West District, have expressed profound gratitude to the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, for nominating Mr. Stephen Akurigu Aeke as District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area.

In a statement signed by the convener, Dr. David Adumbire, the community described the nomination as “historic,” noting that it marks the first time a native of Sirigu has been selected for the role.

“This is a moment of immense pride and celebration for Sirigu. The nomination of Mr. Aeke is a clear testament to President Mahama’s inclusive leadership and recognition of grassroots commitment,” the statement read.

Mr. Aeke, a long-serving member of the NDC, has served as Branch Chairman for three consecutive terms and currently holds the position of Constituency Other Youth Representative. According to the statement, his dedication to grassroots mobilization and unwavering loyalty to the party have earned him widespread respect within both the party and the wider community.

The citizens believe the nomination will inspire youth and other community members who have dedicated themselves to public service and party work.

“This nomination is not only a personal achievement but a collective victory for all who believe in loyalty, service, and community development,” the statement added.

The people of Sirigu pledged their full support for Mr. Aeke and called on all assembly members to unanimously endorse his nomination. They also reaffirmed their commitment to the leadership of John Mahama and his vision for an inclusive and equitable Ghana.

“We are inspired by your vision, Your Excellency, and we thank you sincerely for this recognition,” the statement concluded.
