The C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS) has issued a formal statement explaining the delay in organizing a graduation ceremony for its 2024 cohort of graduands, citing reasons beyond the control of university management.

According to a press release signed by Abdul-Majeed Yussif, Acting Head of University Relations, the dissolution of the University’s Governing Council on January 7, 2025, in accordance with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845), is the main reason for the postponement.

“The power and responsibility to hold a congregation ceremony for the conferment of degrees are vested in the University’s Governing Council by the law establishing the University,” the statement noted.

While acknowledging the frustration and inconvenience caused to graduands and stakeholders, CKT-UTAS assured the public that measures have been put in place to mitigate the impact of the delay. Graduands who require documentation for employment or further studies are encouraged to apply for transcripts of academic records and attestation letters by contacting the Office of the Registrar.

Applications can be directed to:

University management emphasized its commitment to ensuring that the graduation ceremony will be organized as soon as a new Governing Council is inaugurated.

“We deeply regret any inconvenience this delay may have caused,” the statement concluded, while reassuring the 2024 cohort of graduands that their academic achievements will be celebrated in due course.
