The Chairman and CEO of Cardinal Namdini Mining Limited (CNML), Mr. Tang Zhenjiang, has pledged to expand local content and job creation as the company enters its production phase.

Speaking during a working visit by the Upper East Regional Minister, Donatus Akamugri Atanga, and members of the Regional Security Council to the company’s Biung project site, Mr. Tang expressed appreciation to the government for its support and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration with stakeholders to ensure the mine’s long-term success.

“We are committed to delivering jobs, increasing revenue for Ghana, and strengthening our corporate social responsibility initiatives. But this can only be achieved through strong partnerships with government and local communities,” he said.

Currently, Cardinal Namdini Mining Limited directly employs 202 workers — 66% of whom are national, 29% from the local area, and only 5% are expatriates. Additionally, subcontractors such as Engineers & Planners engaged by the company employ a workforce of 851 local workers, 705 national, and 127 expatriate workers.

Mr. Tang noted that as the mine moves into full production, these numbers are expected to grow, driving economic opportunities and development in the Upper East Region and beyond. He reiterated the company’s commitment to contributing meaningfully to national development while maintaining responsible mining practices.
