The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Talensi, John Millim Naabwomya, has expressed his commitment to addressing the rising security concerns in the district.
The DCE noted that robbery cases have become a pressing issue that requires immediate attention. According to him, he has already briefed the Regional Security Council (RESEC) on the matter, and they have assured him that additional police officers will be deployed to the district in the coming days.
“Last week, we had a RESEC meeting with the regional minister and all the heads of security in the region. I raised the issue with them, and I’m confident that next week we will receive a deployment of more security personnel into the district,” he said.
Mr. Millim also mentioned that the completed Sheaga Police Station will soon be operational, with more police officers posted there to serve the area.
“The Assembly has also constructed a police station at Sheaga, in the eastern part of the district. It’s ready for commissioning. The Regional Commander assured us that once the necessary arrangements are made, officers will be posted there to help address the security threats in the district.”
The DCE made these remarks to the media when he, together with the Member of Parliament for the Talensi Constituency, Daniel Mahama, paid a working visit to the Talensi Traditional Council to formally introduce himself.
He called on chiefs and the youth in the district to collaborate with his office to ensure the overall development of Talensi.
