The Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive, Roland Atanga Ayoo, has made a fervent appeal to communities within the municipality to prioritize proper sanitation practices.
During his visits to the chiefs of Soe and Yipaala communities, Mr. Ayoo expressed concern over the poor state of sanitation in the municipality, lamenting how rubbish is scattered everywhere — a situation he says compromises the municipality’s cleanliness.
The MCE emphasized the need for community leaders to come together to address the sanitation challenges.
“On the issue of sanitation, I have been stressing the need for chiefs, opinion leaders, assembly members, and elders of each area to rise to the occasion and ensure that we get rid of the rubbish in town.”
“I’m encouraging them to identify a particular day when the entire community can engage in cleaning activities, and I’ve assured them that whichever community is ready to take on this initiative can inform me, and I will personally join them.”
The MCE also pledged to look into other pressing challenges raised by the chiefs — ranging from electricity and security to roads and healthcare. He called on community leaders to readily make land available for development.
