The Upper East Regional Minister, Donatus Atanga Akamugri, has commended Ghanaian-American musician and philanthropist Samuel Asaa, popularly known as SamAiam, for his dedication to giving back to society.
SamAiam paid a courtesy call on the Minister at the Regional Coordinating Council in Bolgatanga to introduce himself and discuss his annual Asaa Festival and Music Concert.
The California-based artist with roots in the Upper East Region, SamAiam expressed his commitment to supporting development efforts in the region through music, health, and youth empowerment. He highlighted several initiatives undertaken as part of the festival, including mega health walks, free health screenings, and wellness education.
The Asaa Festival and Music Concert has grown into a major social and cultural event in the region, attracting participants from across Ghana and beyond. Its activities have made a tangible impact, especially in the areas of health and youth development.
“I’m here to support the growth and development of our region, especially the well-being of our youth. That’s why, for the past three years in March, I always return home to help. We have undertaken many initiatives and plan to do more as part of the festival,” SamAiam said.
The Regional Minister praised SamAiam’s commitment to his home region and commended the positive impact of the Asaa Festival. He pledged the Regional Coordinating Council’s full support for SamAiam’s programs and encouraged him to continue his good work.
The visit marked a significant step in strengthening a partnership between SamAiam and the Regional Coordinating Council to drive development in the Upper East Region. With the Minister’s endorsement, SamAiam’s efforts are poised to make an even greater impact on the region’s growth and prosperity.
