The Member of Parliament for Talensi, Daniel Dung Mahama, has lauded Earl International Group Gold Ghana Ltd for its pivotal role in enhancing economic growth in the Talensi District through job creation. The MP made these remarks on Monday during his first official visit to the company’s operational site since assuming office.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Mahama commended the Chinese-owned large-scale mining firm for significantly contributing to local employment and community development. He praised the company’s efforts in offering job opportunities to the youth of Talensi and urged management to consider expanding its recruitment to accommodate more young people in the area.
“The presence of Earl International in Talensi has brought a wave of economic relief to many families. Jobs created by the company have not only improved livelihoods but are also helping curb the rising tide of youth unemployment,” Mr. Mahama said. He added that empowering the youth through job creation remains a key component of his development agenda for the constituency.
The visit also served as a platform for discussions on improving security and safety within the company’s mining concessions, particularly following increasing incidents involving illegal miners. Mr. Mahama pledged his support in working collaboratively with all relevant stakeholders to address these challenges and ensure a peaceful operational environment.
Ebenezer Bognaab, the Public Relations Officer of Earl International, expressed appreciation for the MP’s visit and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to prioritizing local employment. “Since the beginning of our operations, it has been our policy to recruit and train young people from Talensi, even those without formal education. We are committed to helping them gain meaningful experience in underground mining,” Mr. Bognaab stated.
He emphasized Earl’s willingness to collaborate with the MP and other development partners to address community concerns, promote agricultural support for local farmers, and drive sustainable development in the district.
