Johnson Ayine, a former Deputy Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region, has officially declared his intention to run for the position when nominations open.

In a statement released and addressed to party members, Mr. Ayine emphasized his readiness to renew the party’s communications machinery in the region with renewed energy and strategic focus.

“Dear Patriots, I am writing to express my intent to contest for the position of Director of Communications for the Upper East Region of our great tradition, the NPP,” Mr. Ayine wrote. “With over two decades of experience in party politics, community organisation, communications, and a proven track record of effectively promoting the party’s agenda, I am confident in my ability to lead the communications team in the region.”

Mr. Ayine pledged to dedicate his efforts to what he described as “Reorganization and Rebuilding through Effective Communication,” a message that underlines his vision of strengthening party structures and unity ahead of the next electoral cycle.

He noted that the time has come for a communications leadership that not only promotes the party’s achievements but also drives engagement at the grassroots level.

“I look forward to the opportunity to serve the party and contribute to our collective success in the course of unity and the reorganization and rebuilding of our party,” he stated.

The NPP is expected to announce the opening of nominations for regional executive positions in the weeks to come, setting the stage for internal contests as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.
