The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bolgatanga, Roland Atanga Ayoo, has called on residents and Assembly Members to effectively support revenue mobilization efforts to improve compliance and accelerate development in the municipality.
From January to July 2025, the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF) stood at one million, four hundred and thirty-four thousand, one hundred and twenty-five Ghana cedis and seventy-nine pesewas (GHS 1,434,125.79). This represents 43.75 percent of the Assembly’s annual target of three million, two hundred and seventy-eight thousand Ghana cedis (GHS 3,278,000.00). The figure marks an improvement compared to last year’s performance of 29.81 percent for the same period.
Addressing Assembly Members at the first ordinary meeting of the second session of the ninth Assembly on 26th August 2025 in Bolgatanga, Mr. Ayoo stated that while the municipality’s IGF performance is encouraging, more effort is required to improve compliance with property rates, market tolls, and business operating permits. He therefore urged Assembly Members and relevant stakeholders to support vigorous revenue mobilization drives, coupled with prudent expenditure management.
“While our performance is encouraging, we must still improve compliance with property rates, market tolls, and business operating permits. I therefore call on Hon. Members to support vigorous revenue mobilization drives, coupled with prudent expenditure management,” he said.
As Chairman of the Municipal Security Committee (MUSEC), Mr. Ayoo also commended the security agencies in the municipality for maintaining peace and order despite a few thefts, as well as land and chieftaincy-related disputes.
