The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bolgatanga, Roland Atanga Ayoo, has established a sanitation task force as part of efforts to promote good sanitation practices in the municipality.
The move forms part of Mr. Ayoo’s vision to make Bolgatanga one of the cleanest towns in Ghana.
According to him, the task force is mandated to design plans, programs, and strategies to strictly enforce sanitation rules and regulations.
The MCE revealed this when he led the Assembly to intervene at the refuse dump site at Bolga Sherigu, where accumulated refuse was pushed back to create more space and allow vehicles easier access.
“I have put together a sanitation task force, and very soon we’ll begin activities to ensure the Bolgatanga Municipality returns to its glorious days of being one of the neatest towns in Ghana,” Mr. Ayoo stated.
He further called on residents to view sanitation as a shared responsibility, stressing that the establishment of the task force reflects his commitment to tackling sanitation challenges in the municipality. He emphasized that collective support will be key to achieving the “Neatest Town” goal.
