The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has donated Ghc540,000 to support tertiary students and first-year students entering Senior High Schools in his constituency.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Job Aboyom, who described the gesture as a demonstration of the MP’s unwavering commitment to education and youth empowerment.
According to the statement, Ghc270,000 of the amount has been allocated to support tertiary students, while another Ghc270,000 will assist first-year Senior High School students as they transition into the next phase of their education.
The MP’s initiative, the statement noted, aims to alleviate the financial burden on students and parents, particularly at a time when many families are struggling with the rising cost of education.
“Hon. Adongo recognizes the challenges students and their parents face, especially in securing school fees, accommodation, and essential learning materials. This support is therefore meant to ease their burden and ensure no student is left behind because of financial difficulties,” the statement said.
Beyond these donations, Mr. Adongo has also been providing daily support to students and vulnerable members of the Bolgatanga Central community, reinforcing his long-standing commitment to improving access to education and empowering young people through opportunity.
The statement further emphasized that the MP’s gesture reflects his vision for a constituency where education remains the cornerstone of development and progress.
