The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Isaac Adongo, has emphasized the importance of experience and consistency in politics.
Speaking in an interview, Mr. Adongo said that longevity in Parliament enables leaders to make a greater impact, arguing that the more time one spends in the House, the stronger and more effective they become. His comments come in response to critics who have suggested that, after serving three terms, he should not contest again.
However, the Bolgatanga Central MP maintained that stepping back after making progress would be counterproductive.
“We can’t take three steps forward and one step back to go and begin all the way,” he said.
Mr. Adongo, who currently serves as Chairman of the Finance Committee, said his experience has positioned him to deliver more development for his constituents.
“Where I have reached now, because I have been there for three terms, that’s why I was made Chairman of the Finance Committee,” he explained.
He added that several of his requests to government agencies are expected to materialize soon, bringing tangible benefits to the Bolgatanga Central Constituency.
