The Executive Director of Amisonga Impact, Freda Nsobila Amisonga, led a literacy and motivation outreach at Kologu Primary and Junior High School in Navrongo, in Ghana’s Upper East Region, as part of the foundation’s mission to promote education and empower young learners.

Speaking during the visit, Ms. Amisonga encouraged the pupils to take their studies seriously and to believe in their dreams, regardless of their background or circumstances. She shared her personal story as a reminder that success is attainable through perseverance, hard work, and education.

“Where you come from should never limit what you can achieve,” she said. “With determination and focus, you can reach your goals and change your story.”

As part of the outreach, Amisonga Impact donated 100 reading books to the school’s primary and junior high libraries to help improve literacy and strengthen a reading culture among students. The books, Ms. Amisonga said, were meant to serve as “a foundation for learning and a gateway to knowledge.”

To make the session engaging, the team organized a spelling and reading activity in which pupils who correctly pronounced challenging words were rewarded with pens. The interactive exercise aimed to boost confidence, sharpen spelling skills, and make learning enjoyable.

Ms. Amisonga expressed gratitude to her team and partners for their continued support in advancing education in rural communities.

“This is part of our long-term commitment to ensure that every child, no matter where they live, has access to learning resources and the inspiration to dream bigger,” she added.

Amisonga Impact has been active in schools across northern Ghana, providing mentorship, learning materials, and community-based educational support to improve literacy and empower youth.
