The leadership of the Paga Youth Movement (PAYOM) has paid a courtesy visit to the Upper East Regional Office of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to express appreciation to the outgoing Regional Director, Mr. Wisdom Ahadzi, for his exceptional leadership and commitment to promoting tourism in the region, particularly in Paga.
According to the group, the visit was a gesture of gratitude for Mr. Ahadzi’s continuous efforts in enhancing the tourism landscape of the Upper East Region through innovation, collaboration, and community engagement.
Speaking during the visit, the President of the Paga Youth Movement, Mr. Aborah Wenawome, praised the Regional Director for his instrumental role in advancing tourism in Paga and other parts of the region.
“Paga Youth Movement is grateful for the great efforts you’ve made in the community, especially in organizing and promoting the Panafest and Emancipation Day celebrations. Not just Paga Youth, but the entire Upper East Region is truly blessed to have you,” he said.
Mr. Wenawome added that under Mr. Ahadzi’s leadership, the GTA has worked closely with community leaders, traditional authorities, and youth organizations to promote cultural heritage, attract tourists, and create opportunities for local economic growth.
In response, Mr. Wisdom Ahadzi expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Paga Youth Movement for their recognition and goodwill. He reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to maintaining strong partnerships with communities and stakeholders to promote sustainable tourism across the region.
“This gesture strengthens our shared vision to position the Upper East Region as a top destination for cultural and eco-tourism,” Mr. Ahadzi said.
The visit underscored the growing collaboration between the Ghana Tourism Authority, traditional authorities, stakeholders, and civic groups like the Paga Youth Movement in advancing tourism-led development in the Upper East Region.
