Preparations for this year’s Bolgatanga International Cultural and Arts Festival (BICAF 2025) ramped up Tuesday morning at Jubilee Park, with organizers, vendors, and partner groups busy setting up ahead of the event.

The Widows and Orphans Movement (WOM) was particularly active, preparing a variety of local dishes to be served throughout the festival. Known for empowering vulnerable women in the region, WOM is using the occasion to highlight Northern Ghana’s rich culinary heritage. Large cooking stations were set up as members arranged ingredients for dishes that reflect the cultural identity and food traditions of the Upper East Region.

Across Jubilee Park, colorful tents in shades of blue, green, yellow, and red have been erected, creating a vibrant festival atmosphere. Exhibitors, artisans, and vendors continued organizing their spaces while security personnel maintained order during the setup.

BICAF has grown into one of the region’s most anticipated annual cultural celebrations, showcasing arts, fashion, dance, food, and traditional crafts. This year’s edition promises an even more engaging experience as community groups, creative entrepreneurs, and cultural performers prepare to display their talents.

WOM’s participation adds a unique culinary dimension to the festival, giving attendees the chance to enjoy authentic local flavors prepared by women who rely on such platforms to sustain themselves and support their families.

With preparations well underway and organizations like WOM already bringing life to the grounds, Jubilee Park is steadily transforming into a hub of culture, creativity, and flavor as BICAF 2025 officially kicks off today.
