The Upper East regional capital is gearing up for the maiden edition of the Jovii Invitational U-13 Juvenile Tournament, scheduled to run from December 29, 2025, to January 1, 2026.
The youth football competition is the creation of Joshua Naoh Tenzie, popularly known as “Josh King,” CEO of Jovii Enterprise. A retired national referee and philanthropist, Joshua said his passion for the “beautiful game” inspired him to establish a platform to nurture and promote juvenile football in the region.
“My love for football and the desire to see young talents flourish is what urged me to organize this tournament,” Mr. Tenzie said. “We need to invest in the grassroots to ensure the future of Ghanaian football remains bright.”
The four-day event will feature eight elite U-13 teams competing for supremacy and potential scouting opportunities. Confirmed teams include Soccer Masters Colts, Bolga All Stars Babies, Mboma City FC, Harvest FC, Young Bolga FC, Yagzore Faith, Bolga Real Madrid, and Ambitious FC.
The grand finale is scheduled for New Year’s Day. Organizers say the tournament aims to provide a festive, competitive atmosphere for sports fans in Bolgatanga while showcasing the next generation of football stars. Joshua described the initiative as a way of giving back to society and supporting youth development in the Upper East Region.
Local scouts and football enthusiasts are encouraged to attend and support the growth of young talent.
