The Tanzui community reclaimed the Frafra Unity Games title in 2025, defeating Dapooretindongo in the final to win the tournament for the second time in its history.

Tanzui, who lifted the maiden edition of the competition in 2021, secured the latest victory with a 2–0 win at the Mobil Astro Turf in the Bolgatanga Municipality, reaffirming their status as one of the strongest football communities in the area.

The final was keenly contested, with both teams displaying quality football that drew large crowds despite competing personal commitments of spectators.

Tanzui made the most of their chances in the first half, scoring two goals through Bernard Boayirk and Dennis Alagdi. They maintained control going into the break and remained disciplined in defence in the second half to contain a spirited response from Dapooretindongo until the final whistle.

Perry Azumah of Tanzui was named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance in the final.

With the victory, Tanzui now hold two of the most prestigious inter-community football titles in the municipality—the Frafra Unity Games and the Ramadan Soccer Fiesta—and have become the only community to win the Frafra Unity Games twice.

Tanzui received a trophy, gold medals and a cash prize of GH¢3,000, while runners-up Dapooretindongo took home silver medals and GH¢2,000.

Several individual awards were also presented. Desmond Kane of Zaare emerged as top goal scorer with six goals. The Best Goalkeeper award went to Mensah Carlos of Tanzui, while Perry Azumah was named Best Player of the Tournament. Elijah Anabire of Dapooretindongo won the Most Promising Talent award, and Emmanuel Azudaa of Tanzui was adjudged Best Coach. All award winners received plaques.

The final attracted dignitaries from across the Upper East Region, who converged on the Mobil Astro Turf to witness the culmination of the tournament.

This year’s competition was sponsored by Friends of Prosper, who donated new sets of jerseys and footballs to all 19 participating communities. Additional support came from Nab Hotel and Events, Ends Well Pharmacy, Home Boy Trading Enterprise and Roberto Art.
