The Member of Parliament for Talensi, Daniel Dung Mahama, has restated the government’s commitment to improving road infrastructure in the district, describing the poor state of roads in the area as a top priority.
Speaking to A1 Radio’s Seidu Mutawakil, Mr. Mahama said he recently raised concerns about the deteriorating condition of roads in Talensi on the floor of Parliament.
According to him, the Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Agbodza, explained that sections of roads in the district have been captured under projects to be executed through the Ghana Highways Authority.
“The Minister for Roads indicated that the road from Tongo through Yameriga, Sheaga and Gare to Dusi forms part of the Ghana Highways Authority’s R152 road, which has been captured in the 2026 budget,” Mr. Mahama stated.
He added that processes are underway to ensure contractors mobilise to the site as soon as possible.
“We are working around the clock so that, very soon, contractors will move to site to begin work,” he said.
The MP further disclosed that he has also engaged the Department of Feeder Roads to address the condition of other roads within the Talensi area.
